Creative people bring vibrancy and relevance to a community

ABOUT US

In the autumn of 2002, the Columbia Downtown Development Corporation was formed, a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. Thirteen years later, after clearly understanding the growing importance of the arts within a community, the CDDC began working under a new name: Create Columbia.

Mission

Create Columbia exists to help create an urban environment that attracts people, investment, and commerce through the promotion of existing community resources, the development of new resources, and the preservation and celebration of our architectural and cultural heritage.

Vision

Creative individuals fuel the determination toward a Renaissance of an evolving Columbia. Through the promotion of our historical and cultural assets, the stewardship of our environment, and the support of our creative community, Create Columbia is committed to ensuring a vibrant environment. A simple, yet very powerful idea.

INTERNATIONAL POSTCARD ART INVITATIONAL 2023

Artists working in various disciplines from around the world will be invited to submit original, one-of-a-kind postcards. Those postcards will be placed on display at the National Watch & Clock Museum, 514 Poplar Street, Columbia. The public will be able to bid on their favorites.

This year's theme is "It's About Time." The deadline for artists' submissions is August 24, 2023. Postcards must be processed through the postal service (and not placed in envelopes). We're expecting big things after last year's enormously successful fundraiser.
